Preparing for Standardized Tests

How do you prepare for standardized tests?

Read and write as much as you can

To prepare for standardized tests, students should read as much as possible. Read a wide variety of texts, including novels, nonfiction books, newspapers, magazines, short essays, poems, and even blogs. As you’ve probably heard on many occasions, reading is fundamental. The more you read, the better you will perform in school and the better you will perform on standardized tests.SAT or ACT

If you are not a fan of reading, then I suggest you try reading topics that truly interest you. For example, if you like sports, then read sports material. Read magazines, newspaper articles, or biographies about athletes. There is a lot to say for reading a wide range or varied subjects (and I hope you do). I happen to think you will be a more knowledgeable and interesting person if you develop an interest in a range of topics.

Do math problems

Arithmetic, algebra, and geometry are the core math skills tested on the ACT and SAT. Doing well in you math classes in high school will help you on the math section of standardized tests.Standardized Tests
