Perched on the edge of the Edwards Plateau off Highway 67, it’s the ideal place where both parents and kids can truly take a breath, relax and revel in Dallas’ own slice of the hill country. Besides the views at an elevation of 775 feet, it’s where the Blackland Prairie meets the limestone escarpment of the plateau. It’s one of the few places in Dallas kids get to see native grassland, wildflowers, and spectacular hills all in one place. Not to mention, those incomparable Texas sunsets and coyotes serenading at dusk and morning!

Mexico City provides separate metro cars for women

Picture of women only signA large orange barrier announces, “Only Women and children under 12 years old.” In Mexico, the transportation system gives women the option of separate metro cars. The all-women’s section is blocked off by a glass partition. A woman near the barriers said it was for the safety of the women. Later a man said the metro gets too crowded, and women did not feel comfortable with the unavoidable body contact with men. The hotel check in agent said she opted not to ride the separate metro cars for women because she once faced a very crowded line of women and when the doors open the women aggressively pushed into the cars.

The Importance of Studying Abroad

Why Berlin you ask?  The Berlin program at Nazareth College offered an internship component. So not only was I earning course credits, but I also had the opportunity to gain work experience in Berlin’s professional work industry.
