Design Your Instagram Like a Magazine

This post will show you step by step how to design your Instagram page like a magazine.

Has an Instagram layout ever caught your eye and after you couldn’t stop scrolling? What caught your attention? The color of the layout? The high quality photos? Afterwards, did you take any action such as leave a comment or follow them? This post demonstrates step by step how to design your Instagram page like a magazine to boost your follower count and engagement.

Step 1: Pick a look

How do you want your page to look? Bright and fun? Dark and mysterious or tropical? Pick a look that fits your personality and some of your favorite colors. Here is a great guide to choosing your Instagram layout.

Step 2: Choose a grid

Choosing a grid layout is one of the most important steps. A grid = a template = an awesome Instagram theme. You can do a diagonal grid, a tile grid, lines, mix and match, anything you like. Here are a few examples of a grid layout.

Step 3: Content

With Instagram being a photo only layout, it can be a little tricky posting valuable content without text; your photo is what is first seen. For content, you can choose to post about home decor, fashion, food, travels, landscapes, whatever you like! Even if you want to mix all of them, make sure you use high quality photos and stick with the same filter and/or color scheme.

Step 4: Use high quality photos

As stated in step 3, it can be a little tricky posting valuable content without text. The solution: ALWAYS USE HIGH QUALITY PHOTOS! If the photo is fuzzy or in low resolution, it’s best not to post it. Check out this list of free smartphone photo editor apps that can easily help enhance your photos.

Step 5: Have fun!

After applying all of the steps above, be sure to always have fun. Showing your creativity to the world and seeing your follow count increase is always a good feelings. Be sure to engage with your fans by commenting back and/or liking their comments and following them back. Keep up the great work and continue to be an inspiration.
