Addison, Texas displays the largest 4th of July Fireworks in North Texas. What may surprise some is that Addison’s 4th of July Fireworks rank #3 across the nation!

Called KABOOM TOWN!, Addison’s 4th of July festivities launch 1500 pounds of fireworks in a thirty-minute display. 100.3 JACK-FM radio simulcasts music for the fireworks displays. Then the Addison Airport produces military and civilian air shows. In addition, top notch groups play a variety of music genres. These range from Patriotic to Country, to Top 40 Dance music. Families enjoy the food, Family Fun Zone, carnival, midway rides. Celebrated on every continent, it is estimated that there are no fewer than 16,000 4th of July Fireworks displays in the U.S. each year. The American Pyrotechnics Association recommends KABOOM TOWN! among its Top 2 recommended displays for 2017. KABOOM TOWN! is also a top ranked fireworks event according to USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, and Travel + Leisure Magazine.

This 13,000 resident Dallas suburb swells as 500,000 spectators from around the world attend KABOOM TOWN! Addison’s 4th of July fireworks ranks #3, behind the Atlanta and Minneapolis displays. Addison beat out other cities on this same Top 20 list including New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Houston. During this celebration, all 26 Addison hotels sell out. Several of Addison’s 230 restaurants host KABOOM TOWN! parties. This for spectators who desire more comfort than folding chairs in the park or nearby parking lots, allow. The Town of Addison spends $300,000 on the event. As a result, the Town estimates the economic impact to be $3-5 million.

Addison has held this event for 32 years and improves it every year. If you live in Texas and have already made plans to attend another 4th of July event, cancel them. The event is FREE and is held from 5:00 PM to midnight. Plan to arrive at Addison Circle Park around 4:00 PM when the gates open. Once the Park is full, the gates will close to any further admission.

Since KABOOM TOWN! is so popular, be sure to allow plenty of time to find a place to park. Many families tailgate in the areas around the Addison Airport. Here is the schedule of events:

4:00 PM                 Addison Circle Park gates open
5:00 – 9:00 PM       Bands entertain on the Main Stage
7:00 PM                 Addison Airport Airshow
9:30 PM                 Fireworks begin
10:00 PM               After Party with Emerald City Band begins
